I was speccing a Lenovo W540 and was wondering about the option for the M.2 16 GB SSD. Apparently this is used to provide SSD caching for a spinning HD. But I was planning on buying it as stripped as possible and replacing the spinning HD with a SSD that I bought (1 TB Samsung SSDs are $539 from Newegg today.)
